    Tarp air pockets

When I'm rolling up my superfly and trying to stow it away in my warbonnet snakeskins I'm finding that there are excess pockets of air in my rolled up tarp that I regularly have to deal with. I never have this problem with my warbonnet edge. I'm suspecting that the doors are causing part of the issue. Does anyone have any advice on dealing with these air bubbles, or any ideas on how to prevent them in the future?

I have the same problem with the SF and I just go slow to allow the air to escape.

Same here. It only takes a few seconds for the air to dissipate, or you can squeeze/milk it out if you're in a hurry.

Odd as I've never had this issue with my SimplyLightDesign Winter Haven. I use the Hammock Gear mesh snake skins so I wonder if this is the difference.

I borrowed my buddy’s tarp for my son to use on our Porcupine Mountain trip. He has the warbonnet snake skins and I noticed that they are smaller than the skins that I have from SLD and my mesh skin from HG. I now understand why he has the problem with the air bubble in the middle. I do not have near as much trouble with my SLD skins and no trouble at all with the single mesh skin from HG.

I also have the SLD single mesh skin, my superfly has the problem as well, not terrible but its there, however on the last time i packed it away i had my doors still pinned back and open to eachother and sure enough the tarp slid right in no issues.

I don't have the same tarp or skins but have experienced the bubble issue in the past. I even started a thread to ask how to take care of it... https://...Annoying-Tarp-Bubble

I found that my question about single skin or 2 piece skin was much like the CRL vs Split RL for tarp discussions. There are a number of threads on both and everyone has their opinion on which is best. Ultimately I found that I like the 2 piece skins best and I learned to roll my tarp in a way that allows the air to escape the end before I pull the second skin over the end. Practice and play with the variations until you find something that works.

I have a 13' SLD Winter Haven tarp and a 1 piece snake skin. Usually, before pulling the snake skin across the tarp, I would unhook the doors and start to roll up one end end of the tarp to get things going so to speak. Last weekend, when I had the tarp out for a quick hang, I left the doors pinned back before pulling the snake across the tarp (mainly because of how hard the wind was blowing; when the doors were loose it was flapping and flying all over the place!). With the doors still pinned back I felt like pulling the snake skin over the tarp was much better/easier. I did not have to start rolling up the tarp first and I notice very little air entrapment as well.
