    MYOG down UQ ??

So I have talked myself into building one or two down UQs.

How thick if I decide to build one for the spring/summer, 45-50dF.
I am thinking maybe 1.5" sewn through.

How thick to build one to match my Ultra 20. It is good for an honest 20dF for me. I am thinking 3 to 3.5" baffled then if I need more bottom warmth, I can use pads.

Also whats the recommended size. I am 6'3-225 but tend to curl up and side sleep.

    Thanks

Mrprez (and Stormcrow) also posted a link to this chart, which is very helpful I think.

Also - Stormcrow's got great prices on Down. In fact, I think he might still have some of the 900fp left for under $7/oz. Check the group buy section.

I have an old snowlion bag nobody wants, -40dF and I dont have a use for it anymore.

4#, 10" loft with 1.9 oz nylon so I am sure its 900+ down. It probably has 3# of down in it. It cost like $500 freekin $ in 1978 or so.

If I am convinced we wont have an ice age within the next 30 years and nobody buys it I might salvage it for the down. If I dont I think I will make life simple and buld a a climasheild quilt.
