Lets get this thing started on the fly.

Tire looks a little low this is not a good way to start the trip.
The blue or the yellow Trail what would Neo do. Its 2:32 and I'm starting out on the yellow trail map says 1.4 miles to Creekside. Thankfully it's an overcast day the wind is picked up a little bit and the temperatures are mild. The trail is Sandy but not soft. I brought my zpacks arc haul weighing in at just over 19 lb.

The trail follows the creek but I don't see any water.
Looks like I found the water and actually looks like it's running High. Don't worry I'll clean out the spider webs for you guys on my way in. It looks like Trail maintenance was just completed not too long back. Probably right after Irma.

Saw a nice 6 foot Gator laying on the edge of the bank as I was coming in. He waited till after I got the picture before he jumped into the water.

    Gator number 2
    yes that's the trail
Yes that's the trail. Trail crew must have not gotten this far. After the first quarter mile the trail goes to Pieces fast.
The trail into camp has a pretty good flow rate.

Had a great time on this hang.

Took the access road to the campsite the trail had some water at the beginning and right before getting to camp but it was not nearly as bad as it was two years ago.

Made it to camp. Greeted folks and continued to set up.

Evening was as usual with everyone preparing their meals, talking and having and enjoying great company.

Olddog and Ultrapack-who just joined the group- took care of the fire while we laughed listening to Moonshiners stories. Oh my god I’ve never laughed so much in my life. This guy is the real deal.

Went to sleep right after hikers midnight and had a good night sleep.

Wife had to work today so I had to cut the trip short of one night but it was great seeing everyone.

Headed out with grinder and drove home.

Looking forward to the next hang.

The first fall hang is in the books. On the walk in, I remembered "Samsara" who was once the forest ranger in charge of this forest and who began our stays here. He has returned to his home in Oregon, but he is not forgotten. Thanks Dave!!!

Great beginnings for this season. Big-Country, hangNyak, Ricktorfla picked me up around 8:30 AM on their way to the forest. Met up with Moonshiner for the hike in. Camp was damp but not as wet as the last Sherpa. Spent a perfect weekend with old friends and gained another. It was a pleasure meeting you Ultrapak. As usual for the first trip I pack more food than needed. With the time change it seems almost everyone's internal clocks were off so most of us didn't make it past midnight on both nights. Looking forward to the next trip in a couple of weekends. Postings coming soon.
Most of us end up poorer here but richer for being here. Olddog, Fulltime hammocker, 365 nights a year.

Thanks for the pictures Life Scout. By the way, I didn't return your folding spoon, PM your address and I'll get it in the mail ASAP. That's twice in two trips you've come to my add. Thanks Again!!

I sure do miss LWRSF. It's such a beautiful place.

Happy Birthday, Tom, and thanks to all the Veterans that served our Armed Forces. I know there were a few of you out there.

Great pictures from you all and keep up the trip reports. I need more.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you
