    SOLD: Switchback for sale

Allright, I think I have improved, IMO, the Switchback as much as I can. So its going up for sale with its modifications. This has been slept in 2 nights by me, inside. Its never been up outside.

Its a 1.9 double olive with a black taffeta liner.

First, a new set of 6' whoopie slings in grey will be larksheaded through the channel. Attached to either end will be a CAMP Nano biner in silver.

Second, I replaced the line that holds up the bugnet with whoopie slings. The shock cord is still there, I just replaced the cord. It measures almost 6' so I made a couple whoopie slings from grey 1.75 Zing It, 6' long and attached them to the shock cord the same way the stock cord was attached. This will now allow you to simply clip the adjustable loop to your tree straps and pull tight. No knots to fuss with.

I couldnt see any way to improve on the side tie outs. And the ridgeline for the bugnet... I almost made that a double fixed eye RL, but thought some may want to adjust its length, so I left the stock cord on.

Also included will be a ASR. I almost attached this, but the only way I can see to do it is heat up the end of a pin and make a small hole in the bug net to pass it through. Since I was planning on selling it when I was done, I didnt want to deform it in anyway. The buyer can use the ASR as they see fit.

All stock cord, webbing, rings and stuff sack will be included.

Asking $220 shipped. No wait, no fuss. I can ship at the lastest, Sunday morning. After that it will have to wait until Wednesday. I can include a couple Nite Ize #2 S biners in silver stainless steel for the bug net slings for an additional $5. Or plastic in orange or green for $3.

I dread the day your wife puts her little foot down, and says, "No more." We will miss you.

Well..... Its an understanding we have reached. Im allowed to buy gear, but Im not allowed to accumulate it. Although, she still thinks I only have 1 hammock!!!!

I really only bought it to see if I could improve on the lines any, making it easier and simpler to set up.

I still gravitate to the traveler for use.

The switchback looks like the hammock for me, however I need to test one before I can buy one, then there is the issue of getting the money. Anyhow, great job with the mods.

Opie, when my switchback arrives, I'd be interested in talking to you about these mods you've made.

    Absolutely.

Set it up a couple times first though. As I can be a pessimist sometimes and what I think makes things easier isnt always true for everyone else.

Adding a Figure 9 to the net lines would serve the same purpose. In the pictures the Switchback gentleman put up they have the bug net lines above the suspension lines. On my PHS, Ive been able to attach them to the same point as my suspension and still have enough head room to be comfortable. And thats where I think them being whoopie slings would ease and expedite set-up.

There is also no weight gain or loss. Just ease of use.
