    Video: backpack the Gila!

What a great place to hang a hammock! The video is a guide to IMHO one the best 4-day backpacking loops in the desert Southwest:

Looks like a lot of great place to lay back in the hammock and take in the views. Too bad you missed the elk bugling.

    Awesome video & narration!

Brings back great memories of solo trips I did in the Gila & Aldo Leopold Wilderness Area many moons ago. Beautiful country & very scenic.

    Thanks for posting!

Very well done, as all your videos are. You are skilled.

I visited, and greatly enjoyed, the Gila River ruins and visitor center about a decade ago but didn't do any hiking. Seeing what you did makes me want to do the hike. I am from the Phoenix area which makes it pretty far, but maybe there's a way.

    Thanks again!

Hey, you are only 2 hours further than me in Tucson. Not that far to drive for a 4-day hike. Thanks for your comments!

I really enjoyed the video, especially the info you provided! A few questions...

What times of year do you think are the best times to hike that area?

There didn't seem to be any lack of hammocking spots, did you find that to be the case the whole way through?

If I were to fly there from the east coast (Atlanta) where would be the closest major airport I could fly in to (El Paso or Tuscon maybe?)

    Thanks Kurt!

Thanks. Let me ask you, what would it be like in the week between Christmas and New Year?
