Maztrain, Benson Burner, Look forward to my 2nd year of Frog Lake Winter Hang. Each time I learn a little more. Hopefully this year runs a little smoother for me. Water and Layers are being figured out this time.

I also will try to bring a few extra things I have made in the last few years to support hammock camping/ cooking for exchange or swapping .

As someone who has been to every Winter Yeti hang. Weather is variable experienced highs in 40's to lows in teens. Check Government Camp weather expect a variance in + - 3deg. Easy bail out options dont be afraid to come just be ready to bail if need be. I'm bringing a 30deg setup with car option available for temps I'm not ok with it. You should pick up a bundle of wood for each person but more wood is not that far away. Toilets have been open with little fuss each time I've been there, snow shoes are only beneficial around camp unless there is fresh powder. Otherwise you could get someone with snow shoes to compact your route for you. It's completely impossible to get lost as long as you take right turns everywhere and turn left at the lake. Expect alcohol consumptiom to happen, its just cold outside and everyone could get a little bored. Kids always welcome of course. I've been there from a beginner to an expert in Winter camping, you'll be fine as long as you plan for contingencies.

Thanks for the tips. I was there last year and found myself setting up in the dark after a 5 hour drive. First night was a bit cold but through the kindness of some hangers there they helped me get dialed in and the second night was great. I have 20 degree gear just never had the opportunity to practice on trees during the winter. I have turtle dogs at home and trees way too far apart to really get a great hang. Had no problem mixing with the guys since I grew up with brothers and work with 30 men. The guys did shovel some snow from the women's bathroom door for me an entrance. Having never really had the opportunity to participate winter sports I did find myself wet from sweating , not knowing really how to dress for what activity I was doing . Practicing on that now. Bought snow shoes since I kept high centering in the 4 foot snow
and was lent a pare last year. This next hang is sure to be the Best ! Can't wait.

Just got Friday the 19th off, so I can drive from Seattle area and get there at a decent time. Been wanting to attend this one since it started. I have NW Forest Pass, where do I buy the snow park pass though. Looking forward to seeing you guys there.
I miss my 4.8Lb base weight as a ground dweller...But I sure DON'T MISS the ground.

You can buy them at Government Camp - that's where I bought mine last year.

It's going to be awesome - can't wait!

My 15 y/o daughter requested to join me this year so I'm bringing her along. It was a great excuse for buying a new set of insulation
