Cord length for tarp over Ridgerunner

The Ridgerunner needs to be hung on trees farther apart than a gathered-end hammock. What length cord would be recommended to bring for the tarp that goes over the RR? Like 40 feet if I'm doing a continuous ridgeline? If I use two sections instead, of what length? I camp out west where there are trees with sizable diameters. I would have some extra cord that I could add to it if I had to, but what would be a good base length for the tarp cord(s)?

    Thanks in advance!

There's not a huge difference. I normally try and find some trees with a spread of around 13-14' with my gathered end. With the WBRR it's more like 16-17' or so but I can go a bit farther. With some huge trees though 40' of cordage might not be out of the question but I'm pretty sure the WBRR suspension isn't nearly that long.

If you really want to know, just max your suspension on the WBRR and measure from end to end. Maybe add another few feet. Overall if the trees are too big or far apart to hang your hammock it doesn't really matter if your tarp will span (and vice versa).

I use Dutch's CRL and it's 30 feet long and I always have a lot left over.
