    Funny to see this thread. I just did this over Thanksgiving at my parents' house. They thought I was crazy, but everyone who tried it was surprised how comfortable it was. I just stayed in the basement and hung off the girders so I didn't have to worry about weather, though.

    every visit to the woods. every. at the wife's family reunion by a buncha cabins in TX somewhere decent, at my mother's if ever, and if i get the tensahedron stand bought&built into segmented sections one day i'll be bringing that along every time i have to stay anywhere else ever. glad you could convert him, stay free of the housefull of people, and get restful nights' sleep away from the home hang!!

    I always take my hammock setup when I visit friends and family, I always have a comfortable place to sleep.

    did the same thing for about 9 nights over thanksgiving. Mom came down and we gave her our bed. only other option was couch (no...) or air mattress (ELLL NO!). Threw up the Superfly and my hammock in the back yard and stayed through her stay. I always have a setup in my bag when we go visit family (sometimes even bring the TATO stand and setup in the garage). If I want the trip to be happy and for everyone to continue to love each other i need to get good sleep
