That's too bad Bubba. It's always good having you around.

P.S., I'd throw a tarp over your canoe when you get a chance. I think leaving it exposed to the sun's UV rays will damage it over time and she's such a purdy canoe.

Hi All, I’d like to come to Silent Lake on Feb 2-4 and I think I can make it. I’ve only done winter overnights in the back yard so far and i’ve been looking for a chance to join in on an outing. Thanks for organizing it!

Yeah I left it too long to get it to storage. I visit it to clean off snow and hope to move it when the weather breaks. Normally during the Spring/Summer/Fall it's shaded by the tree and I wash it with a marine soap that has a UV protectant.

Making it out is not 100% out of the question at this point. It's more like 50/50 but I don't want to get my hopes up.

I will not be able to attend the weekend of Feb. 2-4.

The boss has a milestone birthday on the 2nd and my couch is not good for sleeping!

    Have fun.

Groan... Honesty, when I asked my future wife what she wanted for her birthday and she waved her hand at me and said "ice", I thought she was a die hard winter camper and I had found a match made in heaven. Alas...

P.S. After much use, my couch isn't nearly as comfortable as it used to be.

sooo... how about this weather eh??
plus side today and tomorrow back to minus on weekend with rain changing to snow and possible significant accumulation... I've heard a few different forecasts but should be arriving mid to late Friday afternoon. Will have some firewood and I do have a noisy woven poly tarp. supposed to be windy as well. tis winter after all.

    Hi all,

I just gave Valens a call to give them the heads up about this weekend. Park's open however they're expecting a heavy snowfall beginning late Friday on into Saturday with up to 20cm of accumulation, and I was cautioned that they're not able to ensure that the roads will plowed (there's only 2 other guests in the park atm).

We should be able to get in Friday, but it might not be before May that we'll be able to get out. For my part, I'm thinking of bringing a pack of seeds or two. I know a couple of use have trucks, but a few only have sedans. Personally, I'm ok to risk it.

    Comments?

I will still be there. My sedan has winter tires so as long as we don't get four feet, I should be good to get outta there.

For the adventurous or those with new Pulks, Leaving the car parked at the entrance and hiking it in is an option. I think it is about a 2km hike from the entrance to where we camp. Might be fun
