I have winters too, but I think a hike in is what I'm going to do to round out the adventure.

For those who yearn for soft-water in times of hard-water! Hope that's not Dad's new 32 pound kevlar ultra-light!

Good luck everyone! I know you're all feeling bad for me sitting here in 75° sunshine fishing the Myakka river sipping on a porter. Heading to HangCon 18 tomorrow. I know it's rough but someone needs to do it.

I have virtually indestructible canoe you are welcome to use. Does NOT come with injury insurance tho. I would try it....just saying.

I hope to arrive mid to late afternoon on friday as well. Will be packin firewood for the "scorching hot fire" We might need it. If its snowy I'll pulk in , if not I will drive in.

Bubba: hope your 50/50 0dds increase by friday.

LMB: You might be basking in 75 degrees but we'll be basking in 20cm of snow!
No signs,no fees,no rules, nobody. My kind of campsite.

    Hey all,

As of 9am, it looks like freezing rain early to mid-afternoon then it drops down to -13c with wind gusts up to 50 km/h. That area has shed branches and trees in the past (just read Deep Thought's account from back in 2011) and if the trees are covered in ice, the chances will be even higher. Tucking into the cedars on the south end, or even across the road away from the washrooms, might be prudent.

Please keep your eyes on the road conditions and use your best judgement; no one will be offended if you choose to show up Saturday morning instead, as long as you bring hot coffee and timbits, and maybe a little duct-tape to patch up tarps.

Mr. Husband has some business to look after in Toronto and will be too late to join.

It always sounds better when you can't make it.

    Happy weekend, gang.

    Hey gang,

Roads are pretty bad around here. Not trying to discourage anyone just making sure you knew. I'm 50/50 right now but not weather related! May see you later tonight.
