    It seems feasible to me to add a screen insert to a top cover.
    Post up your results when you do it!

    As Canoe42 suggested, prepare the mesh piece with rolled hems first, stitch the mesh piece to the cover, THEN cut away the fabric of the cover and fold over the edge to stitch it finished.

    How do you cut away the cover fabric without also cutting the mesh you already stitched on?

    I love my XLC.
    This is why I didn't go down the rabbit hole on the new XLC UQP and top cover.

    If it had been close to the same price as the 2QZQ I probably would have gone that route.

    Also love my XLC.

    Only cut one layer -- cut the fabric, don't cut the mesh!
