    hennesy hex questions

Probably should be in another sub forum, but this one has all the traffic...

    1. Will this need to be seam sealed and...

    2. Has anyone used the included hook on the corners, wrapped around a tree, and used as a pulley system similar to a trucker's hitch? Or... is there a better way to hook it up.

I'm looking for the quickest and easiest way to set up inside the snakeskins.

I have this fly and really like it. I did not seam seal mine and it's been going strong for 10 years. I attach mine by the D rings to a permanent line via prussic knots and metal rings. The whole thing works perfectly with my snakeskins. I'll try to find a pic for you.

Found a couple pics for you. This has worked very well for me. The orange line that runs under the tarp is just to hang stuff off of (i.e. headlamp, etc.). The red line is the line used for the tarp.

this is what I'm most used to.

evenk knot one end... trucker's hitch... prusiks with a toggle.

I've used the hooks on the hammock and tried a continuous ridgeline. I'm partial to using the built in hooks on my hennessy. I don't use my snake skins for my tarp, only for my hammock. If I was to use skins for the tarp, I guess a continuous ridgeline is the way to go.

I have started using a continuous ridge line on my hex fly as described by Derek(The Ultimate Hang). I ran the line through the ridge line triangles though. One end has a mini biner that wraps around the tree, then back onto the fly. The other end wraps around the tree then a prusik and mini biner connect back onto the fly. You have to hold the triangles when unclipping, to keep them from disappearing into the snake skin, but it works well.
