    SC - Columbia - PSH Frozen Butt Hang 2018 - Feb. 1-4, 2018

    Sesquicentennial State Park

    Primitive sites 3, 4, 5

Take the dirt road at the end of the parking lot beside the Splash Pad. Sites are behind the park office.

Cost: FREE for PSH Supporting Members
or $5 per adult for the weekend.
    Kids are always FREE.

Join us for a cold, winter hang! We will have food, fun and a warm campfire. Group meal on Saturday. TBA.
If you want to come and lack sufficient insulation, hammock or tarp, post below. PSH has loaner gear and other folks have extras and are happy to share.
White Elephant/Purple Racoon/Pink Zebra gift exchange on Saturday afternoon. If you want to participate, bring a wrapped or bagged camping (or other) related gift(s) for the exchange. We will choose numbers and let the swapping and "stealing" commence! DIY and gently used is fine. Just have fun with it!

Dawn I will be at this hang or the one in the spring. I like this park in Columbia, SC. Will be good to see you all again.
    Straight out of Clayton.

Most physical hike: Grandfather Mountain, NC. Aug 13.

I don't need to make my pack lighter. I need to make my (_*_) lighter.

Hi! You don't need to be a PSH Supporting Member to come to our hangs. Everyone is welcome! The more, the merrier! We would love for you to come hang with us! No sign up sheet. If you have Facebook, this is the event page. https://www.facebook.com/events/1957529247839359/?ti=cl

It looks like I will get to make this hang for the first time. I'm excited already.
If you prepare for failure you will probably succeed.

Frozen Butt reminders for those wishing to participate:

#1 White Elephant Gift Exchange: Bring a wrapped gift (new or gently loved) gear/hiking/camping related to be exchanged. Most gifts are around a $20 value, but feel free to be as generous as you wish.

#2 50/50 Raffle for Gear Trailer Fund: Tickets are $5. Buy as many as you want. We will draw one. Winner will take home 50% and Fund will get 50% of the total raised.

#3 You may drive to the campsites. A map is posted below.

#4 The gate code will be posted on the event page on Thursday. If you are arriving late, please be sure to get the code. Enter the code and push the lock in to release.

#5 Upon arrival, tell the gate attendant that you are camping in the Primitive Area with Palmetto State Hangers. They should give you a parking pass. If no one is there, stop at the office to get a pass. You do not need to pay to enter the park.

#6 This is a family friendly event. All are welcome. Dogs are welcome. Public adult beverages are not.

    #7 Food:
If you are bringing a contribution to the meal for Saturday ...Thank You! Also, we will have a share table for group SNACKS and DRINKS for the weekend...feel free to bring something for the table. If anyone would like to bring a cooler of ice, that would be great!
If you bring it, we'll cook it:
    Bacon
    Sausage
    Spam
    Other breakfast meats
    Eggs
    Sliced cheese
    Loaf bread
    1# propane cans
    Folding tables
Coffee will be served each morning by our wonderful Dosei who makes the world's best best cowboy coffee.

All meals, except the group meal, are own-your-own. However, there will be some cooking at breakfast that you are welcome to share in until it's gone. Some folks love to bring a pot of deliciousness to share and that is always welcome.

#8 There is running water on site. The bathrooms with flush toilets are a short walk away beside the Splash Pad.

#9 We will have a sign-in sheet available periodically during the weekend. Anyone wishing to join as a Supporting Member may do so at the prorated $15 amount. Supporting Members camp FREE at all PSH Hangs! Other adult PSH members and adult guests: $5 for the weekend. Kids are ALWAYS FREE!
Some PSH swag will be available for purchase: $3 or 2/$5-decals; $5-magnets, car tags, stuff sacks.

#10 We are so glad you are coming! Have fun, hang out with the friendliest folks around and let's make this the best Frozen Butt EVER!
