I was renamed at this wonderful event...Thanks Flipp for not going with the first few options! I might have mentioned to a couple of people passing by the stairs to the dining hall that wiping their feet would help keep the sand out of the building. (OK, most of the time loudly to everyone) Upon returning to the porch from checking my gear when the rain had blessed us with a shower, I failed to brush off my shoes...and got caught...the pot calling the KETTLE black.

Gumbo and Timberrr, I hope you do find yourself in my neighborhood and we get to share more experiences.
Thanks for coming out. It was a real pleasure meeting you. Thanks for making the Lowe's run with me on Monday to make sure we left the campground better stocked and taken care of than we found it.

As far as the new trail name there is just one more detail to take care of....contact the admins here and ask them to change your name if Kettle is available. ::

Good for you, Kettle. The admins are pretty cool and try very hard.

I've been trying to get them down here for HangCon, maybe next year.

Did you or anyone else get to take the Terrapin Outfitters Hammock Chair Stands home? They were really nice.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

Our camp host has taken them with him. He was very excited, hopefully they’ll serve their use well

This was my first group hang and definitely won't be my last. I loved how friendly and helpful everyone was and the sense of fellowship was astounding. I can't wait for my next group hang and it has inspired me to pursue longer and more challenging hangs. Thanks for the awesome time everyone!

This had been my first group hang as well. It was a solo mission and I had a blast and meet plenty of wonderful people and ate loads of wonderful food. Just finished my Second group hang and am itching for more. In fact ran into Cajunracer at both hangs That guy gets around Here's to hoping I can make it back next year for hangcon2019!

I just reread all the stories....fun, fun, fun...

...Will make time to rewatch all the videos soon...

In this very hot and very humid Central Florida Summer, it's sure a great read and relive some wonderful Cold Florida Winter hang fun. Brings back some great memories from this past hang.

And of course, now I'm racking my brain to see what I can come up with to add to HangCon 2019. I saw that I mentioned the Vendor Appreciation Day for Thursday. All vendors, PM me if you want to know more. Soon will be sending info for the HangCon kayak 2019 trip.

I also see I mentioned a "Parade of Homes". This may have to be a gathering of all the newcomers, new hangers, just-checking-things-out-ers, one morning to give them a taste of 20 or so different set ups.

Of course, still will be hiking another section of the Florida Trail. And maybe we can schedule a trip to the Ancient Sinkhole. Here, you can hike down to the bottom of this sinkhole.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

Had a great time. As a fairly new hanger I didn't know what to expect but my expectations were blown away by all the food, fun and fellowship. I was surprised and amazed that I could be warm and comfortable sleeping in a hammock in 28F weather.

Is it too early to be anticipating HangCon 19 ? I'm looking forward to seeing friendly faces and checking out more gear and techniques. I'm not overwhelmed with excess free time and the thousand mile land gap issue... but if I can assist in the event, I am happy to do what I can.
