    Angry New Guylines Advice

I took my brand new, never been used, Hennessy Hex out on Monday/Tuesday and danged if one of the guys snapped at 6AM Tuesday morning. I'm annoyed. I'm upgrading pegs soon, so I may as well upgrade guys. What do you suggest? Strength is more important to me than weight.

I'm a big fan of lash-it. very small, but strong. I have mine spliced to ti stakes so it's easy to pick up and not leave them behind. Works well with either Dutch tarp worms or fleaz.

If you don't want to splice, Lawson Glowire is a very nice guy line.

Thanks for the link! I really like the looks of that bar tensioner, too.

Just keep in mind that you don't want a guyline that is too strong either. You'll want the line to give or slip before the material of your tarp breaks. Another popular option is braided mason line, it's cheap and usually available at most big box hardware stores. Another option that I like, is planer board line. It's a polyester dacron line, hollow braid (spliceable), 135# or 200# strength and can be found at most good fishing supply places.

    Cheers

+1 on planer board line. I picked up a spool of the 200# from my local bass pro shops last spring and have outfitted mine and my daughter's tarps. It splices much easier than lash-it or zing-it seems to be fairly tangle-resistant.
