OK, I tried to buy a cheap vintage recurve bow for this hang off of Craigslist for this hang but it fell through. Now I am on to option 2, making one from PVC. Although my track record on finishing DIY projects is poor. Also, I have been reading about stump shoots.
I need to find out what the draw weight was of the forum member's bow that I tried out a couple of years ago as a frame of reference. I don't want to hunt, just shoot arrows at a target in the back yard or stump shoot.
I am somewhat interested. I’ve been looking for a trip to do one of the last two weekends of April, depending on weather and other possible commitments.
I’m going to be honest I’ve never been to a hang, and I prefer to hike/camp alone or small groups.
Do you have any links on the trails in the area?

Apple orchard falls can be hiked from the campground if you have good legs.
You can also Google the Appalachian trail triple crown, dragons tooth, McAfee knob and tinker cliffs. Those are about 45 minutes from campground to trailhead.
If you are into small groups this may be your hang. I've never hosted one before and so far there is only about 5 people.
If at least 10 don't sign up by mid April I may cancel it altogether.
Come on down, we would love to have you.

****CANCELLED*****
The SW Virginia Hammock Hang and Traditional Archery Stump Shoot has been cancelled.
There are too many conflicting events that are competing for time with this event.
We will try to reschedule at a later time.
