The fun part of ordering from Dutch -

Is spending someone else's money! One of my friends gave me full authorization to order what he needed to stop using my stuff! His purple Chameleon just shipped, with a Old Man Winter tarp, UQ, and all the trimmings! He got a bug net, top cover, side pocket, beetle buckle suspension - he's set!

And I get to test it all out next week in Colorado when we go out for a few nights!

The bad part is I may have to order one after testing this thing out!

At least you get the fun of selecting and ordering it for him. Does he realize Dutch continues to come out with new products he "needs". He may see recurring charges on his card.

On your hike, it will be a good opportunity to talk to him about extending his credit limit and maybe adding you to the account. You can test things out so he doesn't have to do it. Also if he bought double of everything, you can carry it so he has a back up.
