    I know my stuff is far from perfect. I don't think anyone is gonna be critical of it, just happy I made it. I will continue to do it and eventually it will seam like second nature. Keep on keeping on.

    I wish to thank everyone for all this good advice! Its the very obvious things that beginners like myself miss. Tape and clips---my sister has a bucket of those clips which I'm going to raid when she's not home. Thanks again!

    My foot plate has grooves in it. I used a fine sharpie to make them more visible...

    I still can't sew perfect seams, but they're close enough for me... Makes people believe that I make my own gear... If it's TOO perfect, they think I'm full of . . .

    One thing I was always having trouble with was using too short of a stitch. When I would use a 1 or 2 length it would take so long to go just a few inches it was easy to get bored and "just get it done". I use a 3, 3.5, or 4 on most of my projects now. Seems to hold fine, and you can get a long seam done quickly.
