Underquilt arrived yesterday. Temps this weekend will bottom out around 20. I almost wish it were a little colder for my first test run.

You won't regret your gear. I'm not too far from Buffalo, just a little further than Toronto and I camp whenever I can - year round!

I live in NH so have a decent idea what that long cold winter feels like that you speak of...the JRB W4 will help you a boat load, I suspect. Then for the topside, you could use your other 30* UQ to add to your 30* TQ and you might sleep like a baby all night. I sleep outside most nights and now that I have a HG TQ 0* and a UGQ UQ 0*--it is just magical and I prefer sleeping outside! Report back you you handle the next cold night. Cheers!

I had an MW4 for years and still have the MW3. Both excellent. I have been toasty in the MW3(with a Sniveler TQ rated the same) to it's rated temp with no additional layers. Never had a zero to test the MW4, but was toasty at 10F. Both of those tests were on bridge hammocks, which are very easy to insulate IMO. But I was also toasty with the MW4 at 18F - first time I ever tried to use it- in very high winds not completely blocked, on a WB Black Bird. Just make sure it is snugged up against your entire backside heel to head, or at least neck if using an insulating pillow.
