    My first Hang

I finally finished my tarp and went on my first hang, not too far from home.
It went really good and I learned a lot, although the setup worked well.
Since that weekend I've already changed my suspension twice, overhauled the underquilt attachment twice and changed the way how I attach my tarp ridgeline to trees and how I attach the tarp itself to the ridgeline.
It only took me about an hour the first night to get a good enough hang, I didn't judge the distances very well and hung my tarp between trees to close together only to realise after that I couldn't get a proper sit height in the hammock.
At least I could practise the setup in the dark

Here are some blurry pics I took: https://imgur.com/a/haasH

    Cheers

Most excellent. A first hang success in spite of inclement weather. I can't imagine 95% humidity as I haven't experienced that since basic training in North Carolina or duty in Panama.

It was 10°C highs and 6°C lows, fairly normal for some march rainy days here I think. I ground-camp often enough and I think condensation miiiiiight just be less of an issue than with ground camping, since i have a more airy setup.

It was fun and I can't wait to get out again, maybe in 1 or 2 weeks

Sounds like the beginnings of a hammock addiction that many of us now so well....tinkering & changing things to suit yourself. Its a long winding road. Great start freya.

Mountain views are good for the soul....& getting to them is good for my waistline.

    Congrats
Now comes the fun of constant adjustments, new bling, and tweaking your hangs to what you want.
HF has been so much support and info.

As someone who has only made it as far as my backyard to hang, I can say I'm a bit jealous!
