Insects are a problem. I learned about Permethrin on this forum a few years ago. I need some more advice on jungle camping. I just came out of the Guatemala jungle, I plan to go back into the jungle next month. Permethrin does helps. As I type this I am scratching some serious bug bites, hands, ankles, legs, and so on. Deet helps.

Not just hammocks, but clothes are important. What type of material should your clothes be made out of?

I deliberately live far enough to the north that most insects die or hibernate for about half the year. However, I do thank you for the music link. Sara's voice is easy on the ears.

Somewhere I read that permethrin could be ordered in powdered form and then soak your clothes in it and ring them to double their dry weight. Anybody know how to order permethrin powder? Should be better than the liquid permethrin they sell at Walmart. Maybe I will look at th kiwi clothes another time.
