Yep, & I would use that steel critter-proof bin to store your food in. The raccoons at South Mountain SP are among the bravest I've seen.
One trip we went to talk to folks at one of the other camp sites for a while & I came back just in time to catch a coon dragging my near empty pack toward the creek
Turns out I had left some trail snacks in it when I laid it under my hammock
I too will something make and joy in it's making

i live in 'coon city' and have a collection of conibears--i know they are smart but not smarter than a conibear....but during the hardest part of winter I rarely see them or evidence of them..do you think they chill out somewhere when its bitter cold?

Sounds good. I'll more likely be there early Saturday.

    If I get reaaaal lucky i may get there friday. Sat am seems most likely;

I just made a set of self tensioning lines for my second tarp from mason line. I just have to try them out!

    Highs still in the 40's
over night lows about 24 to 26
maybe rain on friday 20 percent chance of precip.

Its looking more likely that friday will work for me. By the way......
Did you see that winds could be 20 mph? That will test our tarps and my new guy lines!

Maybe you could check us in at the check-in? I can't leave work in GSO until 4:00 Friday.

I don't think you'll be exposed to the strongest winds in those wooded camp sites, but it can still be pretty breezy.
I too will something make and joy in it's making

Yes, that's what I thought. I didn't think I'd make it Friday anyway, except on an off chance. More likely early Saturday.

BTW, here's what I'm getting about the wind:

    Thursday Night
Partly cloudy and blustery. Cold with lows in the lower 20s. Northwest winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

    Friday through Saturday Night
Partly cloudy. Highs in the upper 40s. Lows in the upper 20s.

    Sunday
    Sunny. Highs around 50.
I don't think we'll get the strongest winds to worry about.
