I used to use a Wal-Mart tarp for backpacking. It isn't ideal, but not impossible either. I think lots of folks use the mason line--I like gold.

I just received my Blackbird at work.

Brandon has impressed me with his fast communication and extremely fast shipping. Based on some of the comments about lag time I decided to have it shipped to my office instead of directly to my house, resulting in a Saturday delivery (four days after ordering) on the other side of town from home. I could have been hanging over the weekend!

Oh, well, I’m starting to feel weak and feverish, so I may have to go home for the rest of the day and find a good place to take a nap…

I must have missed the details...1.1 or 1.7, single or double, cord or webbing?

    1.7 double, with webbing.

The more I read about whoopie slings the more I'm interested in them. Just gotta get my hands on some Amsteel. I've treid in REI and Bass Pro but neither of them have it. Guess I'll have to go up to some of the true boating supply places on the lake to find it locally.

Well, I figured out how I could hang it from some of the cubicle uprights thanks to the generous lengths of webbing connected to each end, but my area of the local cube farm is too heavily traveled to allow me to actually set it up during working hours.

I had actually considered leaving it here tonight and taking some shots tomorrow before everyone came in, but there's no way this is staying here tonight. I gotta take it home and try it out on that set of almost perfectly spaced trees in the back yard. It may find it's way back into my car in the morning, though. A shot of a hammock strung between the cubes is pretty difficult to resist, and we often joke that we might as well spend the night at our desks sometimes.

UPDATE for Stumo: Here it hangs in the cube farm. Much more comfortable than my office chair.
