Well... I'm not saying I did that...
HAHAHAHAHA !!!!
Been there done that!
Also wanted to mention that on Warbonnet's site the head end should be closer to the tree assuming that you lower that end vs raising or tightening the foot end. After hanging in mine for the last 4 years this adjustment is much more important as it slackens the ridgeline slightly vs tightening it. This improves the give of the fabric slightly and reduces the potential for calf ridge.
I think you mean hang the hammock closer to the foot end tree?
From the WB site:
“Since the foot end needs to be significantly higher, the easiest way to achieve this is often to just position the hammock much closer to the foot tree AND attach the webbing to the foot tree at head height or above.”
Thanks for that.
I always try and get it evenly spaced before adjustments. Will try this method next hang.
For some reason I also find my XLC more comfortable when the suspension is at about 25 degrees which doesn't make sense because the Ridgeline should keep it consistent. When I hang mine I set the head end of the hammock (not the suspension) at waist high and the foot end about armpit high and it's darn close every time.
Right you are sir, was typing and thinking at the same time....a dangerous combo!
