Fabric for "Not worried about weight" UQ

I have sewn up a few Climashield UQs for my collection of HH hammocks.
I do NOT backpack, we kayak camp, so weight is not an issue, In the past I have literally used whatever "JoAnns" ripstop nylon was lying around, with the 3 or 5 Climashield.
I did "once" order some material recommended,, it was some light weight slippery stuff that quickly went in the trash. LOL

I am going to make an UQ for the newly acquired WBBB XLC, and will order material specifically for it.
Looking for 1.6 - 1.9oz type material (easy to sew)

What should I use for the top (against the hammock) and the bottom layer?

    Water proof, breathable, DRW, ???

    Thanks,
    Slack

Personally, I think there are some very appropriate high-quality breathable fabrics out there that are plenty strong while still being lighter than the 1.6 oz/sq yd you specified.

Of those, I think Dutch's Ion probably offers the best bang for the buck (and comes in great colors...):

However, if you really want a strong heavyweight calandared fabric, his Dobby 1.9 in Dark Olive is perfect but often overlooked...

Besides not worried about weight, the heavier fabrics are easier to sew.
    Will calendared nylon breath??
I geus for the outer shell I want a breathable, water/splash resistant fabric? I am guessing a water "proof" fabric would not breath?
and the inner shell would be any breathable fabric??

Addendum: I forgot that you mentioned in the OP that you were considering building a synthetic quilt; calendared fabric is a must for down quilt shells, but it still helps block some wind at the expense of a little breathability on Climashield quilts. If you're going synthetic, there is no wrong answer, and either calendared or uncalendared will work. DWR is nice too but not an absolute necessity. I think I've made satisfactory synthetic quilts out of more types of fabric than I have used in all my other hammock gear DIY projects combined, so I think you have considerable latitude on technical specifications if you have other considerations coming into play. Also, since you're seldom in direct contact with your underquilt, the "hand" of the shell fabric is less critical than with a top quilt.
