Hehe - the Aussie said "no worries" and "top bloke." I love having international folks around here!

Yeah - try making one. Sewing is really easy once you get past the idea of starting a project. And from what I hear, BB's pattern is easy to follow...judging from the several people who have already made them.

with all the tie outs it is not big deal to add a line if a sag needs to be taken out...i have used a tarp like this before..and it may very well be the same tarp they sell at the guide...and i have had no complaints with it
in fact i was thinking of ordering this asa fould weather tarp to go with my HH on those trips where rain is predicted for the whole outing..

They're definitely waterproof. If the price is right for you, go for it. All the rest is just anal retentive quibbling, including my own comments.

Personally, I don't own one, but have borrowed HC's "Neo" tarp a couple times and found that it provided suficient coverage. I used it on my now infamously ill-fated AT section hike and had no problems with it at all. I had a pretty heavy rain the night I was out and stayed dry as a bone, even after I wound up on the ground sleeping on a root. I also used it a night at the April SEHHA Hangout one night as well. It rained a bit that night and kept dry. It is a little heavier then most other tarps, but it is a cheap way to go for those of us who are "budget impaired".

    Hi
What method did you use or how did you place your order with Ed?
    Thanks

Oops, didn't realize the context. Just saw that you two are Aussies. I'll shut-up now.

If you like, drop Ed an e-mail ([email protected]) and he'll get back with you as soon as he can. He usually answers e-mail the same day, but sometimes is busy. Either way, it's never more than a couple days. His customor service is top-notch!
