I did not take many pics but here are several including the whole group minus Cuffs from Friday and I think Luke and Scott who had gone on ahead Saturday.

    Pinhoti - Skyway Loop Hike

It was really nice to meet everyone this weekend. Seven of us (me, Ewker, Eman, Cuffs, Hedcase, Hangnout and Brian met at and departed from Turnipseed Trailhead on Friday at 1 PM. Immediately had a hard climb to the ridge and Little Caney Head campsite on the Pinhoti where we met up with Angrysparrow and Hetairoi. We trekked across the ridge for a while then descended through the "Stairway to Heaven" and set up camp a little below the Stairway. The next morning Cuffs departed back the way we came and the rest of us continued to Adams Gap to meet with the rest of the group that would be joining us for the remainder of the hike. I think we doubled our group size and then added Ekul and friend a little farther down the trail. It was a long day before we all arrived and found sites along the Cheaha. There wasn't room for all of us to set up in the same area so we just had to find areas along the river and group up in small groups. Thank goodness most of us were in hammocks because there wasn't much flat ground available! I think everyone was too tired and too spread out to get together around a fire that night. Sunday everyone broke camp and headed out on their own schedules. It was only about 2.5 miles back to Turnipseed Trailhead. I had a great time but I must say I was whipped, and then still had a 6 hour drive home. But it was fun and I would do it again, just need to get back into shape a little.

We met Funny Money (R) and Pastor Matt (L) training for a week on the PCT later this year.

Met the rest of the group at Adams Gap Saturday. If the names are not correct let me know. Not shown is Eman (he already moved on) and Ekul and friend (they were camped down trail a little). Back Row (L-R): Brian, Hangnout, Cory, Peg-Leg, Hetairoi, Angrysparrow, Kenny, Kim, JC785, Ewker, pndwind. Front Row (L-R): Southmark, Bigbamaguy Hedcase and Stoikurt.

(L-R): Cory, Peg-Leg, Eman, Bigbamaguy, JC785 and Hedcase.

(L-R): JC785, Hedcase, Angrysparrow and Hetairoi.

Several of us crossed the creek along the edge of the fallen log.

What a great weekend! Thanks boys for letting me crash your party! Wish I could have joined you all Saturday nite, but I did get in a good 12 miles that day and met up with a great bunch of kids from GA State (and they needed the help!!)

Sorry I missed meeting so many of you Saturday, what a great turn out!

Hope we can all do this again real soon!
