is it a problem to keep my tarp stored in snakeskins, or should it be loose? i'm talking about in the closet between hikes, not while hiking. thanks.

as long as it is dry when you put it away I don't see much harm in storing the tarp in skins. Depends on how you feel about pulling wrinkles out when you set it up.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

I agree. I leave my tarps in their tubes all the time. No problem.

The "Search" function is your friend!
I have mine pressed at the dry cleaners between uses with medium starch.
Gives it that "I know how to pull a guyline tight" look!
I leave mine stored in skins all the time too.
yep, i keep mine stored in the skins between uses.
Seems to be just fine.
