I consider the space under my tarp to be my tent with see thru walls. That's where I keep my stuff.

"I wonder if anyone else has an ear so tuned and sharpened as I have, to detect the music, not of the spheres, but of earth, subtleties of major and minor chord that the wind strikes upon the tree branches. Have you ever heard the earth breathe... ?"
- Kate Chopin
I hand it from a tree with some paracord, a Martin Spike Hitch, and a stick toggle. Works like a charm.
I typically keep my pack inside of a contractor/lawn & leaf garbage bag under my hammock. I can then use it as a night stand to keep my boots, baseball cap, phone, glasses, etc. high and dry and within arms reach. It’s not uncommon to go to bed high and dry and wake up to monsoon like rains here in Florida.

You'll find me hanging somewhere in the sunshine state.
I've always assumed that a gear hammock hanging directly below my hammock would mean that my hammock had to be hung too high for me to sit comfortably in it with my feet flat on the ground (I'm 6' tall). I like to be able to sit like that.
And then I've assumed that a gear hammock hanging next to my hammock would bump me and be irritating.
Is there something wrong with my assumptions about gear hammocks?
