Recs near Muskeegan/Manistee/Huron?

Hi all! Indiana guy here. Well be camper camping for a week near muskeegan but now know I'll be so close to the national forest so have to ask if there are any great loops or in and outs to get a night in the hammock? I've seen lots of great info for NCT further north but what about any dispersed options in the SW part of the forest? Thanks for any quick thoughts!

I have not been there yet, but have heard good things about Nordhouse Dunes just north of Ludington.
