hehe, ok, thanks for the info guys.. I thought at first the constricting effet would loose is strength some ways..

ok, situation #2, lets say im getting "busy" with my wife in the hammock.. meaning that there are a possibility of bouncing .. if the whoopie slings dont get a tension at all time because of the bouncing.. is it possible to loose that constricting effet (no kidding, im worried guys)

The real question is: if the tension/weight isn't constent.. isn't there at all time.. the slings could loose their uses/strenght/resistence ?

once again, thank you for the quick replies.. (to get back at the OP, it is now a WBBB option im considering.. unless I can't whoopie the wife.. of course.)

What I like about whoopie slings is that they are easy to adjust the drape of the hammock or to center it under the tarp. I'm not good enough to get my hammock hang just right on the first try.

If you're "busy" enough to completely unload the hammock suspension, I think the whoopie slings will be the least of your worries

the double footbox looks alot more feasible in photoshop than it does in real life. i'm almost 100% certain it's not possible.

no-can-do on the shorter version either, that technically could be done, but i'd have to re-make all the patterns and go through a few prototypes to get it right. lot of work there. it should be just as comfy for a shorter person, they just get to enjoy even more room than someone taller.

Good to know. Now I don't feel like I need to hold out and can get the 1.1 double!

As a heavy guy (pushing 300#) we have to save weight where we can safely do it. My hammock is heavier because I have heavier fabric, 2 layers of it, and though that may only be 7-10 oz, it is something. So Whoopie Slings or amsteel UCR are a (fairly significant) savings.

My DIY double layer hammock weighs only just under 2 oz more than my son's single layer (his is just about a # and mine is 17.9 oz ) because his uses webbing only and mine uses a UCR with prusiks.

The adjustability and ease of setup on both is about the same. He ties a slippery half hitch and I tie a marlin spike hitch, both are very adjustable.

In the end though, I have them because it looked like a fun project that was cool, and for $10 you can get enough amsteel from AHE to try it out. (my UCRs and his webbing break down to the same price since I had tree huggers already, and he had biners and cinche buckles to buy.)

BTW I found out today that I have a WBBB coming (Happy Birthday to me!!!!) and it has the adjustable webbing.

    Hey All,

So I am wondering how all of you are attaching your WS's to your WBBB.

Considering that the internal ridgeline is also the hang-line, what are you guys doing to get tie off the ridgeline/hangline so you do not have 6 feet of that white line, yet not effect the ridgeline, yet have WS's attached.

Anybody got a video or photos to show others what you've done??

As I look at trying to do this, I see about 3-5 different ways that it *could* be done... but I don't understand this stuff enough yet to know what the best way to do this would be.

    Thanks,
    John

WS's tie with a larkshead to the WBBB just like any other gathered end hammock. The ridgeline is simply tied into loop on either end, where it exits the whipping. As long as you pass the WS through that loop, there won't be any problems.
