6 feet with whoopies, 8-10 with cinch buckles
I use 6 footers and I'm an end thru loop guy too. I also tie a marlin spike hitch to secure the hammock suspension to and that sucks up about 1 foot or more. I often have a another foot or more that is unused but it gives me a sense of security in case I hang where there are larger trees.

PS
I only weigh 155 lbs so the lightest webbing that will do the job is needed!
One 4 ft. long with sewn loops on both ends (used with Dutch Clip), one 6 ft. long with sewn loop on one end (used with DC and MSH with toggle).
Reasoning: 1.) trees are not all the same size, 2.) MSH uses more webbing than sewn loop, 3) one toggle allows disconnect under tension
Marlin Spike HitchMSH? Sorry, but my acronyms are not up to speed. What is that?
