    Thanks to the Smurfs!

I’ve spent quite a few nights in my Raven now just really getting to know it more. I have to say that I am constantly impressed with just how comfortable this thing is.

The 1.6 hyper D is very soft with just the right amount of stretch.

I get virtually zero calf ridge (something I got a little of in my 10ft gathered end).

    The lay is incredibly flat.

The field of view is really awesome while laying in it.

I love sliding the net up over the ridgeline when not in use, or removing it completely.

Of course everything about it is very well made. I honestly cannot think of anything that I dislike about it.

I just want to say thank you to the smurfs for a really amazing hammock and the best customer service I have ever dealt with.

I agree with your entire assessment. The Raven is a fantastic, if underrated hammock. I love mine for all of the same reasons, and feel no need to try a different hammock.

It seems like the Raven would have another advantage I don’t see anyone mentioning anywhere. If you leave the net at home, it’s one of the lightest options out there because it doesn’t use non-removable zipper hoods and the zippers aren’t full length. I wonder how much weight that takes off. Papa Smurf, how much do a a pair of 1.6 zipper hoods weigh roughly and how much lighter are the Raven zippers?

I'll have to weigh mine- net only. Mine is single-layer w/ Hyper D 1.6. If I had to guess, it would be around 12-14oz without the net. I've said it many times before, and I'll say it again- the amount of modularity the Raven offers at its price point is unmatched anywhere.

The Raven sure is a sweet rig...I went with the super light option and ordered the Darien, after already owning the Sparrow. I love my Dream Hammocks. The Smurfs are also a dream to work with.

Sure enjoyed raving about the SL Raven I owned. I only sold it to finance a DL Sparrow. I'm not unhappy that I did so because the DL Sparrow better fills the specific niche I wanted it for, but nonetheless the Raven was superb.
