Busted the Bug net out of my Blackbird, now what?

On a recent hike, I performed the ever so graceful move of falling into my hammock unbalanced, rolling onto the bug net, busting out the net and hitting the ground on the other side. This isn't a patchable hole, it is a full on blow out. I'm not a DIY'er (don't have the skill or the patience or the trust in my abilities ) so I'm wondering is there a cost effective option to getting the bug net replaced ( as an intergrated part of the hammock) or am I better off getting a separate bug net? Not gonna lie, I'm pretty mad at myself. Such is life, at least I was in the woods right?

I'd contact Warbonnet and see what they have to say. A separate bug net is going to run you around $60 so if the repair cost at Warbonnet is reasonably close, that is the way I'd go. That way you still have a proper Blackbird that won't remind you of your "incident" every time you sleep in it.

    Good Luck

It's always worth trying Brandon at Warbonnet. Pics might help him decide if the hammock is a total loss, or if it can be repaired.

Send the hammock back to the pros at Warbonnet and have it done right. Then no worries and worth every penny spent.
I actually have story and if it was recorded I would have won the funniest video contest.
Got my Ridge Runner in the mail... this was years ago. I literally opened my box and ran to the trees with it. Well i hung it, zipped the netting fully around laid back and WHOOSH! I completely flipped upside down and looked like a a cat avoiding a bath in a sink with my hands and legs sprawled out underneath me. ? Now I am not a small guy, 6'1" 245lbs. I sware this is true. The Ridge Runner bug net held me off the ground and dod not tear one bit. i then unzipped and dropped my legs out of the netting then I was free! Like a fly from a spiderweb!
If that doesn't tell you the quality of craftsmanship that is put in my Warbonnet Ridge Runner, I don't know what does! When I got out, I looked around to see if any neighbors had seen what happened. I didn't... probably because they were on the hround from laughing so hard.
Note to self...never over tighten the Ridgerunner straps and only at waist height!!!

The net is what makes the BB special. Without the net you have a plain old Traveler hammock. So just any net won't make your BB a Blackbird.

Call or Email Warbonnet to gather the facts.
