So...that old refrigerator is a smoker?I always enjoy those cool weather temps for just getting out and enjoying the woods. After having a low of 81 in my hammock a couple weeks ago on a 3 day trip, I was loving the overnight low 50's we had this past weekend up in northern Michigan.
Every year I have a tradition of when I swap my 2qzq ridgeline organizer from my warm weather netted hammock to my heavier weight gathered end one for fall and winter. My small solo titanium pot gets put away and I pull out my trusty fire stained imusa grease pot, in anticipation of some quality lollygagging time with friends around the campfire.
Even though it's July, I'm ahead of the game and just took delivery of my new Packer camp stove for my hot tent. Bring the snow!
I've got one of those stoves...haven't used it in years. Winters have been yawners.

You say off season, I say in season. The fall/winter/spring are the season to hang.
Reminds me, I have to start work on a Don't Shoot Me orange tarp for deer and elk season.
Love is blind. Marriage is an eye opener.
I just stop using my brown tarp with antlers when deer season starts.
I only camp when it's "cold". It doesn't get frigid in Virginia like up north, but I like it best when the days are no higher than 70 and nights are around 30. That's bliss to me. there are too many reasons for me not to backpack in the summer: mosquitos, ticks, snakes, spiders, humidity, thunderstorms, and on and on and on.

Wood stoves and off season Hangs rule the nest.....so looking forward to Fall time once again and some big snows as well this winter....bring on the Grand Solar Minimum.....
This 30c plus heat is a little too much right now so for that I will relive this moment.....
