    Hammeck or Tato Stand

Pro and Cons of Hammeck and Tato stands. Have Ridgerunner and several gathered end hammocks. Any links would be appreciated.

    Hammeck stands available again?
If you prepare for failure you will probably succeed.

The Hammeck stand is great...but like stated above, aren't produced any longer. If you can find one used for a reasonable price, I'd snag it up.
It works great with bridge hammocks if you have the extension piece for it.
It's a rock solid and well designed stand. The stand market is seeing a bit of a bump with the tensahedron setup, so you might throw that into consideration as well. I haven't used a Tato, so I can't comment much on theirs.

We had many, many Hammeck Stands at HangCon for the last 3 or so years, TDStands for several years before that and a few Tato stands. Also several other DIY tube stands making the rounds.

The Hammeck stands are very well made. The Mecks even had a tarp made for them that contained 2 Hammeck stands inside.

The TDStands are almost common place and easy to DIY and you can easily make them long enough for bridge style hammocks. And 2 sets(4 tripods) can easily hang 4 hammocks when you make the additional 2 ridge poles.

Sorry, I hadn't seen the Tato enough to make an informed comment.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

Getting used one locally, actually in your “hood.”

Seen Hammeck stands at Hangcon the last few years. Getting one used locally. Curious about Tato stands. Hard to snag one, wondered if it would be worth the wait.

Have both, among others. Design wise I prefer the Hammeck but I got the Tato for the weight savings so the Hammeck became the home stand and the Tato became the traveling stand. Now I also have Tensa4. If I were to sell one it would be the Tato and not the Hammeck. Planning on keeping both for a while but have a feeling that the Tensa4 is what is going to get used almost exclusively.

From your forum name, if you canoe camp, I would hold out for a Tensa4. If you want a totally freestanding stand I would not hesitate getting the Hammeck as long as the weight is not an issue and the price is right.
