    another Expedition or ULBP?

i have an expedition but i'm am looking at getting a second hammock for my wife.

i am considering getting her an ultrlight backpacker. of course when i was hiking without her, i would use the ULBP

is the extra $50 worth it for the close to one pound weight saving?

keep in mind that i still need more gear and in some cases, two of everything... two 2Q mods...two packs....etc....

If you are taller than 5'7" the ULBP might feel a little short. Don't know why, the way it's put together maybe, but it didn't feel quite big enough and waking with your forehead against the net is sort of ... itchy.

according to the comparison chart on the hennessy website, the expedition and the ulbp are the same size so i would assume that if i'm comfortable in my expedition, then i should be ok in the ulbp?

I go camping and hiking with my girlfriend a lot, and I have seen how much it really changes her outdoors-mood to have her pack be just bit lighter (either lighter than mine or thans hers compared to previous trips).
Having said that, IMO it is worth it, specially right now with the HEX promotion. I always use the HEX fly for both of us, and she luvs it, though I am the one who carries that heavy *******.

Now, since you would be also using the ULBA when not with her, its also a good upgrade for yourself (you would get a lighter and sligtly bigger diamond tarp to use with the expedition, a lighter hammock, free huge tarp, and free snakeskins). But IMO just get the zipper mod on the ULBA.

Remember to also consider a WBBB instead of the ULBA if you are seeing that a bottom entry isn't really too attractive either for you or your wife

I'm 5'10" and I'm perfectly comfortable in my ULBA. The "sweet spot" is small and hard to find at first, but once you do, you'll have no problem getting there again.
