Hi everyone, I am just getting into hammock camping based on some motorcycle videos I was watching which recommended hammocking as a better way to fit everything into the panniers and as a more comfortable nights sleep. I went in full bore, as I usually do and was speccing out a Warbonnet Blackbird XLC and various other googaws. The price was pretty steep for how much I anticipated using all this stuff, especially if I ended up finding that I liked ground camping better. So I reigned myself in and ended up buying a Grand Trunk Skeeter Beeter Pro, a cheap no name tarp, and a Kylmit sleeping pad. After hanging around in the forums a bit and watching a few videos, I decided to order some Amsteel and give it a whack at making a ridgeline and replacing my suspension with some whoopie slings. I also stumbled across leiavoia's costco blanket underquilt plans and am going to tackle those next. I just want to say right off that this looks like a great forum and you guys and gals have already been an immense help to me so far. Thank you all so much.
