OH -September Planning thread

me and the wifey are going out to tar hollow Saturday night for a bit of hike and camp out by the fire tower. it'll be her first overnight hang!!! might do some hiking over in Hocking state Forrest in red Rock hollow Sunday depending on how she feels.

I know this is the September thread but is there still any interest in doing another float trip in October? I am free the weekend of the 13 for sure and maybe others after that.

I was just surprised that site 3 was that big. Has anyone here used site 3? Is it really big enough?

Its decent size but broke up a little bit. There's a grove right across the creek that would be able to take a handful of people. Probably a handful at site 3 itself by the table and fire ring.

But there's close sites, within 5 or 10 mins walking, to site 3 as well. Abundant water is nice and definitely more accommodating than 2.

3 is a good camp.

I’d be up for a river trip, but I’m on call the weekend of the 13th. I could probably do any other weekend.

didn't get the fire tower site I wanted so we hung down below the dam. we we're the only people down there. the stars were prime. had a site with trees so we could hang opposite each other and still share the same tarp. the wifey had a blast, she even didn't complain about the freeze dried fixins I had for breakfast. had the next day was awesome as always. not a soul to be seen but I'm pretty sure the parks were packed to capacity.
