    OH -September Planning thread

Well, now that we might be losing some of the summer's heat and humidity, anyone up for getting out? I've been doing solo hangs for a few months now and am looking forward to some conversations around the campfire! If interested, shout out available dates and ideas!

September is pretty open for me except for the weekend of the 14th, 15th. I would still be interested in getting out on the water before it gets too cold, Mohican or Muskinghum rivers maybe, but anything would be good for me.

I'm interested. I'm BRAND new to this and could use the time as some help and pointers! Just got all my gear and tried to hang it all yesterday but only had slick 4x4s and they were way too far apart, so everything slipped on me. TMI for this thread but it is what it is and that's my background. I'm about an hour south of Columbus but don't mind travel.

Good to know. Been up in Great Seal a time or two. Been down your way too - went to Shawnee State many, many years ago - when there was still a 2nd st! lol. Lived up on Waller where the new HS sits now.

While I am normally a solo guy, wouldn't mind trying to be social for a trip. The weekend of the 15th and 22nd work for me. While I have tentative plans to be in East Fork on the 15th for a gear shakedown, I am not married to it.

*EDIT* East Fork is a mud pit and not worth a drive. I just happen to live 15 mins away so I don't have to do any real planning. I forget something I can be out and back home in an hour. Great for gear shakedowns, horrible for anything else.

Sorry, folks, I've been busy with house, cars and health and haven't been very useful here. Getting a little last minute for this weekend, but what do your schedules look like?

I just did my first hang at Rocky Fork SP last night. Just wanted to do a day and be at a campground for the first time out. I treated it like I was packing in though. Took a Mountain house dinner and breakfast. Used my little stove, worked great. Food was good. Slept pretty well. Didn't care for my sleeping pad with integrated pillow. Slip and slid all over the place. Was plenty warm enough though with an open sleeping bag. I didn't need to zip it up. I did take a cooler though since I had the car for some beverages. Overall, pretty happy with the night. Ready to hit a trail now.
