Anyone around the DC area interested in taking a canoeing/kayaking trip and doing some hammock camping in the next few months? I'm also looking at rivers in Eastern PA.

you might want to move this to the trip planning forum...unless you are selling spots?
I'll be buying a canoe in June, which is still a few months away, but I'd be interested in taking a trip.
Not the guy to ask for Directions.
i love kayak camping it rocks, all this gear and my cooler easily fits in my 10 ft kayakneo
the matrix has you
Do you already have a kayak? I have an inflatable kayak, which I will be using. I sold my canoe. Here is a link to the kayak I have; its more like a canoe, however.

i am planning a 7 day on the Schuylkill River in PA, but i up for anything. how lomg of a trip are you planning.
PS i have a trailer that holds 6-10 kayak/canoes that we could put at the end of trip.
I'm the organizer for a backpacking club down the road in Richmond, VA and we are planning an overnight canoe trip May 8th on either the Shanendoah or Rappahannock rivers.
Here's the link to the meetup:

I'm trying to decide between the relaxed float down the shanendoah vs. the adventure of low-class rapids on the rappahannock. Both offer nice camping opportunities along the bank and a nice two-day float. Anyone have any comments?
i actually live on the Schuylkill, 30 yard from my window! I know im lucky....their is a white blaze for the AT at my front door and the schuylkill out the back! May be interesed depending on what section your doing and the dates, keep us posted!
