Thumbs up VIDEO: PART 5: Hammock How-To...Tarp Rap...Essentials For Noobs

Tarps .... we love 'em .... we need 'em! Especially if you are a hammock hanger.
We are going on a tarp journey ....I hope to cover MOST of the info in this series.. You are gonna have to do some research and trials yourself. It is the only way. The only.
Site selection and widow-makers are touched on.
Knots ... I cover a few but not all by any means! To learn more on knots go here: http://www.animatedknots.com/indexcl...matedknots.com
A looky-see at the continuous ridgeline for tarp. Under the tarp for snow camping.
See the much talked about "figure 9" in action. Oh, the thrill!
    Toggles on tarp d-rings. Whooooo
Pull outs on tarps. ... more to come.
Some guy line speak.... more to come.
A look inside my DIY winter Tarp with Doors.
A Coyote kill site ....... yeah!

    Hope that this helps some.

HaHa, Shug great video, It was a nice suprise espically bc you mentioned in your part 4 thread that it would be a while before you did another one on tarps, and 4 days later . Great explanation of toggle ridgline. Very nice work Opie. Excellent ideah useing shock cord as the side tie outs. Im gonna have to borrow that ideah from you. Im curious to see you talk about stakes. I have aluminum stakes (the smooth ones with curved top) and im interested to see the tri stakes in action and the advantages if any in comparision. The weight is the same, its just the shape. As always shug, thanks for the video relaly enjoyed it.
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.

I am using snow stakes out on this video ..... see them in pert 2. I have a couple of the tri-stakes but don't use them much. I use titanium stakes the rest of the year.
Turk's idea on the shock-cord pull outs. I like it.
    Glad you enjoyed them.

Well sire ... you did it again. While you have a mighty nice backyard ... it's good to see you in your piney woods! Looks like a nice day to be out there.

So did anyone go by? Over hear any comments like "oh my there's that axe murderer ... and he's talking to himself!"

WARNING: Will discuss Rhurbarb Strawberry Pie and Livermush at random.
