    Shug,
What diameter shock cord are you using, I saw the vid you mentioned and I really like your idea and I definitely want to try it out!

    Thanks,

Yeah, I just rigged up my Superfly with about 9 or 10 feet of 1/8" yesterday. It's heavier than using mason line or such but I like having some stretch which might take a little stress off the tarp. Also using a loop at the end and then a stick as a toggle like in your video is really neat.

Whoa...quarter inch would be awfully thick and heavy for panel pulls I'm thinkin' Shug.

Yeah .... but you could. Would hold more against the wind.
I'm getting a lot of ?s lately and I want to give folks a spread of options ...... kinda just trying to inspire folks to just try what they want and experiment.

I hear ya. I wasn't trying to be narrow minded with that statement. Was just pointing out that 1/4 inch shock cord is pretty thick stuff, even 3/16" is pretty high tension, but you're right it would work.

You could lighten the load of the quarter inch shock cord by doing it the same way as the tarp tieouts. Short section of shock cord and the rest mason line to keep the weight down. Should do the same job.
