Planning to visit family near Biloxi, MS in November or December - could possibly move later to Feb or March. I'm in Ohio. Will be traveling mainly I65 south through Alabama to Mobile, then west to Ocean Springs, MS. On past trips, Huntsville to Birmingham, Al were the usual overnight stops unless driving straight through. I would "like" to hit a campground to hang on the way down at least. Any favorites along the way?
huntsville al there is monte sano state park (https://www.alapark.com/monte-sano-state-park) and Birmingham Al (Pelham really but its right with Birmingham) there is oak mountain state park (https://www.alapark.com/oak-mountain-state-park)

Right outside Nashville is Montgomery Bell State Park, a favorite of many. Just down the Natchez Trace Parkway is Meriwether Lewis National Monument & Campground.
