Just had to psot a couple of pictures of my new crimson tarp, mostly made by Gerrit at Hofman Outdoor Gear Supply here in Manitoba with a litle bit of finishing by me.
I usually make all my own tarps but despite starting out the year with good intentions, I had got as far as buying the fabric, it was looking like I was never going to get this one sewn. I persuaded Gerrit to make some time to sew up the tarp to my my sketch. As it was pretty much based on what I have seen online of the Warbonnet Thunderfly it is not likely a designed he would normally offer but he really helped me out on this one as I have been struggling to juggle domestic stuff with orders for winter camping and paddling gear. He just left me to add the ridgeline and guy point ties, something I was able to do before we headed out for one last short canoe trip before the lakes freeze over.
Worked really well with my REI bridge
Even got some snow so I got to find out what a warm and cozy space the half doors make.
Really very pleased and surprised to feel how light this tarp is for so much coverage.
