Question Nama Claw Gear - Just purchased some - anybody else use these

I just decided to try these new Nama Claws. Should be here in about a week but was curious if anyone else is currently using them. It looks like one complaint is they tear up you tarp line with use. Are there any tips before I try things out?

I purchased and tried these and while they work they do in fact slowly tear at the line. I went back to my good ol' prusik knot so I didn't have to worry about any metal around my tarp when stored.

I've been using them for about a year. I didn't know about the complaints that they tear up your line. I have not had that problem at all.

In fact, I'm about to purchase some more, I love them.

I like my Nama Gear hooks fine BUT what I am going to is tying a loop on my tarp with a tiny Dutch Hook to clip onto a prussic loop on the tarps ridge line. Then I have just one Nama hook to use as the mechanical advantage point and it hooks onto it's own prussic so I do not have to whip up a knot.

So what you would have at that point is a ridgeline with a Dutch Hook or Nite Ize Bone on the tree end, three prussics, one Nama Gear hook to do the work.It is quick, easy, light weight.

I just remembered that I recorded a close up of my Nama claws on my tarp ridgeline for a video I did when I got my new UGQ tarp. I rewatched the video to see if there was any tear on the line and I didn't see any at all. I'm using zing it/ lash it. I had been using them for about 6 months at the time of the video.

If you want to see for yourself, look around the 6:00 mark.

I use and like them for about a year. No problems with tearing at the line.

curious if anyone else is currently using them
Been using them for about a year now. Have not seen any sign of wear on my tarp lines and I have been using them with Lash It / Zing It, Dyemma and UHMWPE lines. Have converted all my tarp ridge lines over to using NAMA Claws.
They do not slip like prussiks can.

Iíve had the same experience of others on here in that I havenít had any issues with fraying or tearing of the line (yellow zingit).

I use them on my CRL and even got a few extra to try as tie-outs. They work well for tie-outs if you have shock cord to keep tension, but if you lose tension on the line they can slip.

But as far as a ridgeline goes, theyíre the bomb.

Nama Claw Gear - Just purchased some - anybody else use these

I run Dutch hooks around the tree and Nama claws to my tarp. I use a separate line on each side. I also keep my guy lines attached to my stakes and Nama claws to my tarp. I use zingit for all my lines and have run 1/6 inch shock cord through a portion of my guy lines to maintain tension.
