NEHHA FALL HANG OCT 12-14 2018 TRIP REPORT

Hi All, just wanted to quickly get the trip report page up and then pics will follow.

I wanted to thank absolutely everyone for all your help with this hang to make it fun and friendly to newcomers. We had several new folks to NEHHA which was great, including someone from my own town! Hi neighbor.

Thanks to WBJohn for the splicing lessons; R3lax: a million thanks for herding 10-11 year old girls and teaching them, and us adults to make alcohol stoves. They will come in handy on our next backpack. Thanks to Brent for the mycology walk and the yummy hen in the woods he found. Can't wait to fry 'em up with butter.

Thanks everyone for welcoming my Girl Scouts who were thrilled to be hammock camping. Also big thanks to Cedar Ridge Outdoors, Jacks 'R Better and Dutchware gear for their generosity in helping my girls get off the ground and into hammocks. They loved their gear.

Thank you Tim for keeping us covered and dry! The biggest tarp award goes to Tim.

Pics will follow when I figure out how to get them out of my camera and onto my computer and into this site.

    Stacy

A great hang was had by many. Thanks to Stacy Adams for spear heading this one. It was one of the more relaxing ones for me. I actually went on one of the hikes. As always there was Good food to eat. I had a lot of great conversations with quite a few people.

What I love about this group is their willingness to help out or teach people. We had classes on splicing soft shackles, mycology (mushroom hunting), making small alcohol stoves and a few other things.

Thanks to everyone for making another great hang.

It was great to see old friends and so many new ones! Everything that Stacy and Tim said above, plus huge thanks to the girl scouts who helped with the bacon-pineapple appetizers. I was so impressed with all the girls, and we even had a special appearance by TJ, who provided us with the requisite hot-rock-cooked pepperoni slices.

I only have a couple photos -- of the chaga, which didn't look like what I thought it would in the wild. Thanks to Brent for pointing that out to us on the mushroom walk! Photos are on my phone, so I'll upload them separately.

    Hope to see you soon.

That tarp weighs more than a Toyota. Backpackable only with pack animals...large ones!

That tarp is bigger than my whole house! Should be called "the big top" after a circus.
