    9.5' long tarp?

I'm looking for a 9.5' long tarp for my new hammock stand, got a thread going on about it in DIY section, vehicle mounted hitch hammock stand. My three present tarps are too long! I did find an old side panel for an ez up tent that is just about perfect dimensions. 9.5 x 6ish but it just doesn't have "the right stuff". no cat cuts, tie points, material is flappy, etc so I want something a bit better. Granted this is for car camping so it doesn't have to be all that light. It's been awhile since I've been on the site or did much research in hammock gear cause what I got works great! but back to the tarp ....... diamond? hex? Plus I want no attachments going to the ground so ultimately I'll have all lines somehow getting back to the hitch system. Picture my jeep grand cherokee along the texas beach, yes we can drive on the beach there, and I need to move for some reason, like my campfire wants more room or the tide or storm makes for higher than expected water, or a friend shows up and I need to allow for their vehicle, or .... whatever. I just don't want stakes in the ground ...... so it all starts with a better 9.5' tarp. who makes one?

I recently special ordered a 10.5' Trail Haven tarp from Simply Light Designs. Normally these come in 10, 11, or 12 foot, but I suspect he could probably make a shorter one.
Very good quality and value in everything Jared, the owner, makes. His products are highly recommended by all those who have dealt with him, and his commitment to customer satisfaction is second to none.

If you want the tarp guylines to go to the hitch, I think you'll need an internal pole (or two?) to keep the tarp spread. I'd be tempted to go with an asym diamond as wide as will fit to minimize the fiddling with poles and guylines with your setup.

    Just my 2c worth...

Ok, it looks like crap but it does allow me to model and test this. Think awning for a travel trailer. It’s crude but works. Presently I have a ridgeline for the tarp and that allows water to drip because I used a trucker hitch after I sat down in the hammock to get the proper setting during tension. Details, details. I’ll play around with this more before I get a custom tarp made or make one.
