    Will this hold?

First attempt at stitching loops into my nylon webbing, after browsing around some threads and getting at least an idea of what I should do to get some strength in the stitching, this is what I came up with:

It's a box triple-stitched at the left and right and single-stitched on top and bottom with an 'x' in it and two more vertical bars.

You think these will that be strong enough to hold me up and not spontaneously fail?

by all means- you've got a boxed x and bar-tacks; you should be good for several years.
(you did use non-cotton thread, right?) KM

Glad to hear it should work. Now I have somebody besides myself to be mad at if it breaks

And I used polyester thread, as I remember reading that to be the recommended thread to use.

Fine job, looks professional. I need that color of webbing for my HHULB, where did you find it? Thanks.

I got it at REI for 36 cents a foot (I think). And what's HHULB?

Also, I've read that poly webbing is better than nylon, Is that because it has less stretch to it or something along those lines?

Polyester has less stretch memory, so it is preferred. Hennessey Hammock Ultralite Backpacker Asym. Your stich is garaunteed to hold at least until you hear the first stich pop- JK.

Well my local REI doesn't carry any poly webbing, but nylon should work, right? The only thing I can see I might need to do is hang my hammock a little higher than at first so I don't wake up with my butt on the ground.

Nylon will stretch......a lot, I can pull several inches out of just 8-10 foot with my 160 pound but. REI sells the nylon webbing to climbers who want a fair bit of stretch for shock absorption. There are several options in the HF cottage shops for poly webbing. I know of 2 places with good service, and quick turnaround on orders...so I hear... I have several options for webbing by the foot for DIY use or pre sewn, and Ed Speers at Speer Hammocks has some options as well.
