Thumbs up Pay it forward, from the Frozen North

Getting caught up in the spirit of pay it forward, and given that I am changing over to a Bush Buddy and alcohol system for my backpacking camping, I have, for those who can use it, a "vintage" but very useable 1970s blue optimus backpack stove. It is very much like the hiker+ version sold today, but without a presure pump. I have used it off and on for the whole 34 years, and it still works like a champ. The person with the best reason for getting this gem, will get it via usps / Canada Post, by the ides of March. PM me with your reasoning, and I will make a choice by Friday at the latest.

    What a very generous offer.

I wish I had a good enough reason to offer, but considering I don't get a chance to hit the trails much anymore, I have no immediate need for it. I'm sure that there's someone out there that will be able to put it to good use.

May good camping/hiking/hanging karma bless you through this offer.

Perhaps I'm the ying to your yang. (why doesn't that sound right?)

I've pretty much been an alky only guy and want try liquid fuel for a bit. In consideration of your offer I will take one of my FF Stubby stoves and pay it forward if you select me.

That's pretty generous. I'd have a hard time parting with my white gas stove for cold and wet weather use. Alky is ok when it's over 20 F, and wood can be great too, but my Dragonfly will work at any temp or altitude. Best of luck to those in the quest.

    Smile And the winner is!!!

I have gone round and round, and wish I had 4 stoves to give away. I have decided, in a fit of nostalgia re scouting, (my father was a scoutmaster, and I was in scouts- In Canada we had the highest rank as Queen scout, not eagle scout--totally different meaning than now!) That ZooBee as scout leader, and user of equipment to develop a sense of love of the outdoors in the youth, should get the stove. I will be in the eastern US attending the MHHA, and SEHHA, in Maryland and North Carolina. PM me with some possible ways we could get together, or I could mail it from NC when I am there.
